THE MISSION
Starz Lacrosse Club is an elite program created to provide additional instruction and competition to select players. Designed to compliment local youth through programs, Starz takes the best players, male and female, and provides the opportunity to compete at the elite level with some of the best coaches in the sport today! We look for players who have a passion for the game, want to compete at a higher level, and/or have thoughts of continuing their lacrosse careers beyond high school.
THE HISTORY
Starz was founded in 2004 by Scott Hochstadt, three-time All-American Attackman at the University of Maryland, who played professional lacrosse in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and National Lacrosse League (NLL). Scott was the Offensive Coach of the San Francisco Dragons. By 2005, over 1,000 boys and girls ranging from Seattle to Arizona played Starz lacrosse. Starz was created to give players an opportunity to play for competitive club teams who ultimately want to compete at the next level. Since its inception, Starz has seen tremendous growth in both our clubs as well as the sport of lacrosse on the west coast. This year, we will see Starz Clubs in Seattle, Tacoma, Oregon, Northern and Southern California, Las Vegas, Arizona and Austin. Over 2,500 of the west coast’s best lacrosse players will wear the Starz uniform in 2010!
STRUCTURE
The structure of Starz Lacrosse Clubs from the bottom up is designed as a feeder to the most elite level lacrosse offered on the West Coast. Our goal is to provide the internal structure that allows our players to compete and develop at the highest level in the game around the USA. To accomplish this goal we have structured the organization into a tiered system that allows each player the opportunity to reach their greatest potential. The three tiers consist of West Coast Starz, Regional All Starz, and Starz Cup Clubs.
WEST COAST STARZ
West Coast Starz is the highest level and most elite program Starz Lacrosse offers for players. The West Coast Starz team is ranked the #1 high school club team west of the Mississippi. This team is hand selected via nominations and travels through out the Country to compete in nationally recognized tournaments. Not only is it regarded as the top program in the West, but one of the top in the country. Inside Lacrosse named the high school boys West Coast Starz Program as the #6 high school club team in the nation in the July 2009 issue.

REGIONAL ALL STARZ (Areas where applicable)
Regional All Star Teams are for those individuals who are serious about playing lacrosse at the next level. Regional teams will be formed to compete at recruiting events on the West Coast and will be eligible to be nominated for West Coast Starz. The number of teams formed will vary from season to season depending on number of nominations, player talent pool, and number of tournaments. Several regions of the Western United States operate with the Regional All Starz teams including Texas, Utah, Vegas, Seattle, Arizona. *Not all areas represented by Starz have a Regional All Star Level
STARZ CUP (Areas where applicable)
The Starz Cup League was formed to accommodate the growing number of players competing in the off-season. The goal of the Starz Cup League is to provide the best competition within regional boundaries, improve player skills, and provide an opportunity to be nominated for one of the most elite club teams in the United States. Members of Starz Cup team compete locally in a Jamboree atmosphere and have the opportunity to be selected for the top tier Starz teams. Starz Cup feeders begin in 3rd grade and continue all the way through high school providing a platform for players to be selected onto the West Coast Starz team.
